Paul Steinberg’s set consists mostly of huge plywood-paneled blocks, as if a giant’s playthings. The townspeople, finding this situation scandalous and titillating, venerate him for his perfect management of the station, but abhor her because, well, someone must be abhorred. “This Armory production feels even more monumental than ‘The Hairy Ape’ ”—The New York Times, “Entrancing!
