Disney's The Jungle Book is the tale of an orphaned boy raised by a friendly bear named Baloo and the panther Bagheera. To make matters worse, the prince ends up marrying someone else and never finds out that the Little Mermaid was the woman who saved him from drowning.

There have been several versions of the story spanning different times and cultures and Disney credits Charles Perrault's 1697 version, Cendrillon, as the inspiration for its film. When the talking cricket shows up to offer Pinocchio a bit of moral guidance, Pinocchio immediately murders him with a mallet, and is haunted by the ghost of the dead cricket throughout the rest of the book.

However, the villain in this tale, Dame Gothel, gets a fairly tame comeuppance compared to the 17th century Italian telling of the story. When her sisters hear of this, they display some sisterly love and try and get her to stay, in the hope that an angry Beast would eat her alive upon her return.

It works, but all the blood kind of gives them away. In Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip meet each other and fall in love in the forest, and Phillip later rescues Aurora from an enchanted sleep. And if that's not bad enough, the princess later gives birth to twins while still unconscious — one of whom sucks the splinter from her finger and wakes her up. Hans Christian Andersen is also the writer behind The Little Mermaid, which Disney adapted in 1989 and sprinkled with some classic songs, a great villain, and a characteristically happy Disney ending.The original story … As Parsley and the Prince are running away, she throws each gallnut in an attempt to distract the ogress and they transform into three animals.
